- wow, lots of swings...just had to let it go at 1645.00 for +6.50 points...
- currently flat the NQ...
- looking to re-enter at 1640.50 for the rest of the session...if not filled i will place an entry order for the sunday night session, but i am not sure for what limit price yet....
- so that makes +27 points for the day (4 contracts at 6.75 points per), and about 37 points for the week...
- no systemic swing trade entries for today or any day this week...i am expecting to get some entries soon as they tend to have periods of no activity and then periods of high activity...hopefully i will start to see some positive performance from them soon...

Adam,
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned that you were looking for 10nq points per day, is this per contract?
It is doable i think, since you are trading all sessions. NQ's daily range is 25 - 35 points. The worst case is around 20 approximately. I am not an expert, but it would be fun to compare notes. I have looked at the 1600 tick chart and hourly together as a discritionary system to catch big swings. That being said, i have not traded it live. I think i make a better plnner/developer then actual trader :-((((
Drop me a note at nqjourney@yahoo.com. I am excited to see what you are doing. May be someday soon i will reach your level :-)
Thanks,
J
hi nqj
ReplyDeletei am currently targeting 10 nq pts/day, and will build a position up to about 6 contracts to accomplish this...the most i have had to use so far is 4 contracts...since these trades can be held for numerous days, i don't need to actually book 10 points/day, just average that when the positions are finally closed...i am limiting myself to the 6 contracts because i allocate most of my capital to my systemic swing trading models...
i believe that most, if not all of us, are better planners than traders...when real money is on the line and the emotions are running high, its significantly harder to be consistently profitable...frankly, the emotional side is where i put most of my efforts these days...
i am interested in seeing how you view and trade the NQ...i will try to email this week...

Hi Adam,
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading your e-mail.
Still confused about the 10 points....is it 10 points total for all contracts together (example with 4 contracts - it would be 2.5 points per contract per day).
Thank you,
J
yes, 10 pts/day as a sum of all contracts exited that day (4 contracts * 2.5 pts/contract = 10 pts)...
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam.
